Mr. Karasawa joined Advantage Partners in February 2026. Prior to joining Advantage Partners, he served as Executive Vice President, CEO of SSE Pacifico K.K., a Japanese subsidiary of the UK-based utility company, SSE plc, from 2023, and as Chief Operating Officer of Pacifico Energy K.K., one of the largest solar power developers in Japan, from 2019.　From 2011 to 2019, he worked at Mitsubishi Corporation, where he was engaged in power and energy-related investments across Europe and the Middle East, including large-scale projects such as the Facility D independent water and power project in Qatar, the acquisition of Eneco in the Netherlands, and the Moray East offshore wind project in the UK. From 2002 to 2011, he worked at ITOCHU Corporation, focusing on machinery exports and renewable energy-related project investments, and was seconded to a solar power development company in Parma, Italy, from 2009 to 2011.
He holds a B.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Tokyo.
