Mr. Shi has over eighteen years of private equity and strategy consulting experience. As a member of Advantage Partners’ Hong Kong office, he has been leading deal sourcing, execution, portfolio management and exit activities in Asia. Some of his deal experience includes the full investment cycle on ESG, a Chinese facility management services company, which was successfully professionalized and grown from a family owned business to a sector leader over the course of the investment. Mr. Shi also led the efforts in driving performance of the overseas business of Pokka, a Japanese beverage and restaurant business, where operating profits grew at a 40% CAGR during the investment period as a result of a successful delisting from Singapore Exchange, two bolt-on acquisitions in Hong Kong and Singapore, divestment of non-core manufacturing facilities in China, and aggressive alliances with brand and channel partners. Prior to joining Advantage Partners, Mr. Shi was a founding member and Senior Project Manager at TZG Partners, a Chinese venture capital investment firm. He also formerly worked with McKinsey & Company in its Shanghai, Beijing, Munich and Tokyo Offices. Mr. Shi received his M.A. in International Finance from Fudan University and B.A. in Management from East China University of Science and Technology.
